Two practices in Pennine Lancashire have been recognised for best improved cervical screening coverage.
Pringle Street Surgery in Blackburn with Darwen and Abbey Surgery in East Lancashire have shown the most screening coverage.
Both practices were recognised for their hard work and dedication in making improvements for cervical screening amongst 25–49 years olds and 50–64 year olds. The Cervical screening best practice recognition awards were handed to the practices at Walshaw House on 19th March 2018.
Dr Kapenda at Abbey Surgery said: “This is a great achievement. Our staff are very passionate about cervical screening and about saving lives! It is always a bonus when hard work is recognised.”
Liz Collinson practice manager at Pringle Street Surgery in Blackburn with Darwen said: “Women don’t realise the importance of cervical screening. This campaign has given us the opportunity to educate women in the borough to take the step and book themselves in for an appointment.”
These awards were given to the most improved practices who were there on the day.
