Janet qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1985 working primarily in acute medicine and care of the elderly services before moving into community services initially as a School Nurse and subsequently qualifying as a Health Visitor in 1989. She has worked in a range of settings across East Lancashire and was particularly involved and engaged in socially deprived areas. She was then appointed to lead the newly established Cardiac Rehabilitation Services in East Lancashire.
Janet then moved on to a range of professional development and operational management posts in Greater Manchester, including leadership roles in Safeguarding, before moving back to Blackburn with Darwen as Head of Nursing with board level responsibilities across commissioning and provisions within the Primary Care Trust.
Progressing to the post of Director of Clinical Services Janet was responsible for operational management and professional nursing leadership and remained in this role to transfer into Lancashire Care Foundation Trust in June 2011. She has most recently held the post of Deputy Director of Nursing in Lancashire Care Foundation Trust since 2011, having responsibility for professional leadership, quality and safety across Mental Health and Community Services
Janet holds a particular interest and passion for the delivery of high quality care and to strong and effective professional leadership with a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
