A local charity has benefitted after a Blackburn with Darwen commissioner donated her raffle prize to them.
Claire Jackson, Interim Director of Commissioning at NHS Blackburn with Darwen Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), chose East Lancashire Hospice in Blackburn as her charity when she won £250 at a recent HSJ Summit.
The HSJ (Health Service Journal) Summit is a yearly meeting of the most senior figures from providers, clinical commissioning groups, regulatory bodies, professional organisations, social care and government attending.
Claire said: “I was really surprised but obviously delighted at winning the draw for a charity of my choice. East Lancashire Hospice does amazing work offering really valuable personalised care to those people with life-limiting illnesses. I’m just so pleased that I am able to help make a little bit of difference with this small donation.”
East Lancashire Hospice was delighted at the donation as every year they need to raise £3.7 million to continue operating. They said: “This as you will understand, is not an easy task for a small local charity, so your support is very much appreciated.”
