Paul is a professionally qualified accountant (FCMA) and brings significant financial and general management experience to the CCG Board. He has over 19 years’ experience as a Director of Finance and Deputy Chief Executive, including more than two years as the Acting Chief Executive of a PCT. He has worked in both acute (hospital) trust and primary care trust settings. He successfully and consistently delivered all key financial targets every year as a Director of Finance. Paul has significant experience of managing organisational change and developments, leading on organisational mergers; the establishing of a Local Improvement Finance Trust (LIFT) company and large capital developments. He has also led multi million pound efficiency savings programmes within the NHS, achieving value for money whilst driving up the standards of care within the NHS. In 2009, Paul was recognised within his profession as the national Healthcare Financial Management Association Director of Finance of the year. He now runs his own consultancy company providing financial management services. Outside of work, Paul is a keen football fan, holding a season ticket for Blackburn Rovers. He also enjoys reading and cycling. Born and bred in Lancashire, he is married with three children.
