Do you want the best possible health services for people in Blackburn with Darwen? Do you want to help shape those services in the future? Blackburn with Darwen CCG has launched a new membership scheme called the Citizen Panel and is recruiting people to act as “health champions”. The Citizen Panel is a membership scheme for people who are interested in sharing their views and experiences to help to develop and improve services locally. It is an exciting new way for people to have their say and influence decision-making on a whole range of health services that are important to people in Blackburn with Darwen. Once you join as a member, your details will be added to our database and at least four times a year, you will be invited to complete questionnaires, surveys or take part in online poll relating to local healthcare. Occasionally, the CCG may also ask you to join focus groups so that they can gather detailed feedback about a specific issue or topic. Chair of Blackburn with Darwen CCG Graham Burgess, said: “Your feedback helps ensure that we are planning and buying the right local services for you. To be most effective, we need to reach out and listen to as wide a range of people from across Blackburn with Darwen as possible.” Everyone who takes part in a questionnaire, survey, digital online poll or face to face group meeting will be entered into a prize draw and 25 people will receive a free gym class, family swim or gym induction or £10 single transaction spend in Blakey’s. This is a thank you for taking the time to get involved. Members will also be kept up to date on what’s going on at the CCG. The scheme is open to all Blackburn with Darwen residents and individuals registered with a local GP. Patients, carers’, the general public and employers of all ages are most welcome.
