This Joint Commissioning Committee (JCC) is a meeting of the Clinical Commissioning Groups in Lancashire and South Cumbria which is held in public and chaired by Phil Watson CBE, who is independent of the health organisations. Following the meeting there will be an opportunity for questions from the public to the committee.
The JCC will be responsible for making decisions about any future proposals referred to it by the CCGs. Any decisions that will need to be made will have been escalated because they require a Lancashire and South Cumbria approach, but most decisions about healthcare will be taken locally.
The committee is made up of GPs and lay members from each of the Clinical Commissioning Groups in Lancashire and South Cumbria. Chief Executives from Lancashire County Council, Blackburn with Darwen Council, Blackpool Council, representatives from district Councils, local Healthwatch are not members of the Committee, but attend the meetings.
If members of the public would like to attend the JCC, they are asked to contact the Healthier Lancashire and South Cumbria Team on 01253 951630 or by emailing email@example.com and provide details of any specific requirements they might have.
We will ensure that the committee meetings will be held in venues across Lancashire and South Cumbria to enable people to attend. In order to make best use of NHS money, we are using public sector premises which will let us use their premises without charge. We apologise in advance if this means we are unable to hold meetings in all boroughs because of charging policies.
Members of the public are invited to attend the Joint committee of CCGs which is set to hold its next meeting on 2nd March 2017 at 1pm — 3pm. This will be held at Venue 53 at the University of Central Lancashire, Brook Street, Preston, PR1 7BQ.
