Several empty canisters of ‘Nitrous Oxide’ have been found on the streets of Blackburn.
Dr Penny Morris, Chief Clinical Officer at NHS Blackburn with Darwen Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) said: “Taking any psychoactive substance like nitrous oxide is extremely dangerous.
“On its own it causes dizziness, confusion, hallucinations and fainting, which can lead to serious accidents.
Dr Morris added:
“This risk is much greater for people who have been drinking alcohol or have other health conditions.”
