Warning after ‘Nitrous Oxide’ canisters found

Several empty canisters of ‘Nitrous Oxide’ have been found on the streets of Blackburn.

Dr Penny Morris, Chief Clinical Officer at NHS Blackburn with Darwen Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) said: “Taking any psychoactive substance like nitrous oxide is extremely dangerous.

On its own it causes dizziness, confusion, hallucinations and fainting, which can lead to serious accidents.

Dr Morris added:

This risk is much greater for people who have been drinking alcohol or have other health conditions.”
