NHS Blackburn with Darwen Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is inviting members of the public to attend its next Governing Body meeting on Wednesday 4 November, when new Chair Mr Graham Burgess takes the helm.
This is Graham’s first Governing Body since being appointed Chair of the CCG on 1 September. Graham returns to the town where he held the dual role of Chief Executive for Blackburn with Darwen Council and Blackburn with Darwen Primary Care Trust (now replaced by the CCG).
Graham, said: “I’m delighted to have been able to take up the opportunity of Chair and working back in Blackburn with Darwen. I’m looking forward to chairing my first Governing Body meeting and welcoming members of the public, who I would encourage to attend.
“These meetings provide an opportunity for our local residents to hear important discussions about the health services we commission and the challenges we face in order to maintain the highest standards of patient care. Involving the local people we are caring for is essential to making sure that local health services meet their needs.
“Mr Dominic Harrison, Director of Public Health at Blackburn with Darwen Council, and a member of the CCG Governing Body will be talking in detail about life expectancy in the borough, so again, I encourage anyone who would like to know more about this to come along.”
The CCG’s Governing Body meetings are held every two months in public. Anyone with an interest in local health issues is welcome to come along and listen to members discussing the work of NHS Blackburn with Darwen CCG and what they do on your behalf.
