Public invited to health body meeting

NHS Blackburn with Darwen Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is holding a Governing Body meeting at Blackburn Central Library with the public welcome to attend. The meeting will take place on Wednesday 5th February at 1pm.

The role of the Governing Body is to oversee the work of the CCG and make sure that decisions about changes to local health services are debated openly and fairly

Joe Slater, Chair of the CCG’s Governing Body, said: “I would like to encourage members of the public to come to our Governing Body meetings.  These meetings provide an opportunity to hear important decisions that are made about which health services we will commission in order to maintain the highest standards of patient care.  Involving the local people we are caring for is essential to making sure that local health services meet their needs.”

Half an hour will be available before the start of the meeting for any questions or statements to be submitted by members of the public who either live or are registered with a GP within the borough of Blackburn with Darwen.  If you would like to submit a question or statement then this needs to be done by 5pm on the 4th February.  To do this you need to notify Pauline Milligan by emailingpauline.milligan@blackburnwithdarwenccg.nhs.uk or telephoning 01254 282118 stating your intention to speak and provide details of your name and address, or that of your GP.  Alternatively, people can write to the Governing Body secretary at NHS Blackburn with Darwen CCG, Fusion House, Evolution Park, Haslingden Road, BB1 2FD.

If you are thinking of attending we would very much appreciate prior notice to ensure there is enough room. You can do this by emailing or ringing us on the main contact numbers.

The Governing Body meeting is being held at Blackburn Central Library, Town Hall Street, Blackburn BB2 1AG
