An air conditioning failure caused a number of IT systems housed in Leyland to temporarily stop working. This had a knock-on effect on some of NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups and General Practices in the area.
The air conditioning was quickly restored, and the IT systems are being brought back into operation in a phased manner.
All General Practices are expected to have their IT systems back in operation later this afternoon and many General Practices responded quickly to advice to put their business contingency plans in place to minimise impact on patients.
Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit apologise for the disruption caused.
Practices are being told when their systems are operational and they should contact their IT Service Desk if they continue to experience issues after that point.
Any other systems affected will be restored in order of priority.
